Welcome from Sheriff Paul A. Pastor! It is a pleasure and an honor to welcome you to the virtual home of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. Since becoming your Sheriff, I have had the privilege of meeting many of you in person at one of the many public meetings we hold each year. You have probably heard me talk about your responsibility as a citizen to become involved in your community and to become educated about the issues facing us. Visiting our web site is a way to address both issues. We have many challenges on the horizon. The recent performance audit of the Sheriff's Department identified the need for at least 60 new Deputy Sheriffs - at a time when many revenue sources for government are drying up. You have heard me discuss the need to continually stress the integrity of the department and the people who serve you. |
