It's OK - Go ahead and touch it. Trucks, tractors, emergency vehicles, and even a Zamboni will roll into Sprinker Recreation Center's parking lot on Saturday, Sept. 12 for the Second Annual Touch-A-Truck event.
The free Pierce County Parks and Recreation's event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is designed to give kids of all ages an up-close and personal look at a variety of trucks, construction vehicles, fire engine, command center, public safety equipment and more. Kids will be encouraged to touch and climb on all of the vehicles and even honk a horn or two while learning more about what each vehicle does in the community.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. The period from noon to 1 p.m. is designated 'no horns' time for sensory sensitive children. Parking is available at Sprinker Recreation Center, located at 14824 S. C St. in Tacoma.
The event will take place rain or shine. Big Truck T-shirts will be for sale.
