Orting Mayor Cheryl Temple, along with fellow board members Carol Slead, Anders Isbsen and Beverly Swan presented the Daisy Stallworth Achievement Awards on Sept. 17 to an excited crowd. James Walton, retired Tacoma city manager served as Master of Ceremonies and Linda Hurley-Ishem past Pierce County Community Services director was the keynote speaker.
"Witnessing the recipients joy as they received recognition, was one of the highlights of this years' award ceremony," said Pierce County Community Services Director Tom L. Hilyard. "Their family members and friends watched with pride and joy on their faces, made the whole evening a truly poignant experience! The importance of this occasion is captured in the smiles and even some tears?worn by honorees, family and other supporters," he added.
The 12th Annual Daisy Stallworth Awards Ceremony was enhanced by the generous support of Tacoma Public Utilities, the Trufant Foundation and local area businesses.
