Orting to test sirens this week

The City of Orting will conduct a lahar drill exercise sometime during the next three days - Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week. This year, in an effort to achieve greater authenticity and facilitate safer outcomes, the exact time of the drill will be unannounced. This will include the use of the three outdoor sirens.

Drills are conducted every year to responsibly prepare for sudden emergencies precipitated by volcanic events or other similar natural disasters. As in the past, this drill will be conducted in close coordination with the Orting School District.
