Budget hearings begin Oct. 21

Two weeks of Pierce County Council hearings on the proposed 2010 county budget begin tomorrow, Oct. 21, at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045, Tacoma).

The first Committee of the Whole hearing features Auditor Jan Shabro, and the county's other elected officials and department directors will follow on subsequent days. Check the council's weekly schedule for the most current information on times and topics, or visit the Budget Web Page for more information.

Each Committee of the Whole meeting will be broadcast live on Pierce County TV (channel 22), and streamed live and archived at www.piercecountytv.org. Final adoption of the budget is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the council's regular 3 p.m. meeting.
