Tails on the trails Saturday at Spanaway Park

Pierce County Parks and Recreation's third annual Woof Woof Walk will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Spanaway Park in Spanaway to benefit Pierce County Parks' youth programs.

This family-oriented event allows the community to gather with their family pets while participating in a morning of learning and fun. It will be an exciting day with canine costume contests, complimentary pictures by Sportraits, "ruffle" drawings, free pet treats, a variety of specialty item vendor booths and more.

The day's main event is a 1.5 mile and 3 mile walk, starting at 10:45 a.m. Pre-registration fee is only $15 for the first dog and $5 for the second. On-site registration is $20 and begins at 9:30 a.m. T-shirts are available for $9. Participants will receive a doggy bag and bandanna for their 4-legged partner while supplies last.
