Hearings include courts, planning department

The Pierce County Council will consider the budgets of the county's superior and juvenile courts and the Planning and Land Services Department when it continues its 2010 budget hearings today.

As part of two weeks of Committee of the Whole meetings that began Oct. 21, Superior Court Presiding Judge Bryan Chushcoff and Juvenile Court Presiding Judge Kathryn Nelson will present to the council beginning at 9 a.m. Planning and Land Services Director Chuck Kleeberg will follow at 1:30 p.m.

Check the Committee of the Whole hearing schedule for a complete list. All hearings are in the Council Chambers (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045, Tacoma) and are broadcast live on Pierce County TV (channel 22) and at www.piercecountytv.org.

Final adoption of the budget is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the council's regular 3 p.m. meeting. For more information on the council's budget process, visit the budget Web page.
