Hearings: Assessor, prosecutor, communications

The Pierce County Council's final full week of 2010 budget hearings begins today with the county assessor-treasurer, prosecuting attorney and communications director.

Assessor-Treasurer Dale Washam, Prosecuting Attorney Mark Lindquist and Communications Director Hunter George will begin their presentations to the council's Committee of the Whole at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers (930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045, Tacoma). They will follow the council's regular Rules and Operations Committee meeting at 10 a.m. and the 11 a.m. Study Session, also in chambers.

Check the Committee of the Whole schedule for a complete list of remaining hearings. They are broadcast live on Pierce County TV (channel 22) and at www.piercecountytv.org.

Final adoption of the budget is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the council's 3 p.m. weekly meeting. For more information on the council's budget process, visit the budget Web page.
