Community-Based Services
As an Area Agency on Aging, the Aging and Disability Resources Program offers a wide range of community-based services that allow older adults and adults with disabilities to remain at home as long as possible. These services address the needs of frail, older and functionally disabled adults living in Pierce County.

Now Featuring
Pierce County Aging & Disability Resources is now offering a free online version of the Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop. This opportunity is available to residents of Pierce County 18 years of age or older who have a chronic health issue or who are caregivers for family members with a chronic illness.  Learn more about Better Choices, Better Health.


What We Do For You 
  • Review your service needs and eligibility 
  • Help you make informed choices and access services 
  • Help you develop a plan that addresses your health, housing and safety needs 
  • Review your situation and help you make changes to the plan as needed
  • 2012-2015 Area Plan provides the goals, objectives and strategies of ADR.
  • 2013 Area Plan Budget provides a fiscal overview of ADR activities.

Services Provided
Information, Assistance, Education & Benefits Counseling
Provides an access point for those seeking information and assistance regarding programs or services available to older adults or adults with disabilities. This service can range from a brief phone conversation to more in-depth conversations in the home setting. Click here to learn more.

Case Management
Case managers assist individuals to access the services and supports they need to remain in their own home. Nurses are also available to review health needs and teach in-home care aide how to best meet those needs. 

Family Caregiver Support
Provides services to help unpaid caregivers caring for aging parents, ailing spouses, partners, disabled adult children, or friends suffering from a debilitating illness. 

Long Term Care Ombudsman
Serves as a voice for residents of long-term care facilities, look into complaints, and helps solve problems.
