View the 2015 Budget
One of our most important tasks of the County is to develop, adopt, and implement a fiscally sustainable budget for accomplishing the goals of the County for the upcoming year. Our vision is to create "A livable Pierce County where people choose to live, work, and play.” The 2015 budget achieves this vision by providing resources to deliver essential customer-focused services that enhance our community.

I oversee the daily operations of Pierce County government and its 3,000 employees who provide services that build and maintain healthy communities.
We responded to the impact of the Great Recession by cutting millions in spending, combining departments and programs, closing inefficient buildings and reducing our energy usage by more than 10 percent, among other things.
Through strategic management decisions, we are still moving Pierce County forward. We have preserved farmland and open space, saved Sprinker Recreation Center’s ice rink, opened new parks and alleviated traffic congestion by widening and improving roads and intersections.
We are working on initiatives to create more aerospace jobs, address growth issues around Joint Base Lewis-McChord, build a better 911 communications system and host an outstanding U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in 2015.
