Head Start and ECEAP are family development programs that provide free services to eligible families.

The federal government funds Head Start, and the State of Washington funds ECEAP. Children must be 3 years old by August 31st and the family must meet the income guidelines for the program.

Currently, we are serving 254 children in preschool programs in University Place, South Hill Puyallup, Sumner, Orting, Buckley, and Eatonville.

Children are offered a preschool experience geared to their individual need. Activities include building self-esteem, preparing nutritional family style meals, and field trips, all in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity.

Families enrolled in ECEAP and Head Start are offered parent support classes, medical and dental resources, and referrals to many local service providers. Parents are encouraged to work in the classroom and are provided many opportunities for personal growth, empowerment and leadership.
