The Employee/Labor Relations division of Human Resources is responsible for:

  • advising department directors and elected officials on labor matters
  • managing employee discipline, discharge, and the grievance process and hearings
  • conducting misconduct investigations
  • unemployment benefits and hearings
  • formulating and drafting County labor policies
  • training managers and supervisor on labor issues
  • managing the Washington State Department of Transportation (DOT) and Reasonable Suspicion Drug Testing Program
  • representing the County before the Public Employment Relations Commission
