The Fleet Rental Fund finances the operation, repair, and replacement of all County automobiles. Revenues are generated through user fees paid by departments utilizing fleet services.
Fleet rental staff oversees the aquisition and preparation of all new fleet vehicles and disposes of surplus vehicles at public auction.
Most maintenance services and minor repairs for county-owned automobiles are completed at the garage located at 2406 Pacific Avenue. To maximize efficiency, certain routine maintenance procedures for vehicles assigned to outlying locations (such as Sheriff's precincts) are provided by outside vendors under contract with the County.
