Volunteers Needed!

The Pierce County Explorer Search and Rescue (ESAR) is looking for new members. If you are interested or have a son or daughter that is at least14 by March 2010 that is looking for fun, exciting community service that will have an impact on your future, this is it.

ESAR supplies highly trained and certified members to assist local law enforcement in emergency search and rescue operations (lost individuals), searching for evidence that has been used in a crime, and providing a valuable community service during disasters. ESAR also supports community events such as parades, and county and city parks events and celebrations. ESAR is an all volunteer organization that provides a valuable contribution to the community. ESAR develops self-confidence and maturity in youth in a safe and secure environment.

ESAR provides training in wilderness survival and leadership skills, search and rescue techniques, communications, team building, program and resource management. Those skills are utilized when called on to assist in real life emergency situations.

When certified, high school students receive community support credit and are authorized five days excused absents from school by law to support missions.

Contact us now to get started and scheduled for the next training cycle which begins the 4th of December.
