There are currently 10 counties in the state hosting 17 Department of Corrections work-release programs. King and Pierce counties have four work-release programs each. Spokane county has two, and Benton, Clark, Cowlitz, Kitsap, Thurston, Whatcom, and Yakima counties have one each. Although Snohomish county is similar in size to Pierce County, it has NO work-release facilities.
