The Department of Labor and Industries administers a program called Crime Victim's Compensation. This program pays the cost of medical care and counseling made necessary by this crime. It acts as a 'payer of last resort' after all other sources of health care benefits have been exhausted. Applications are available at hospitals, medical providers, the Dept. of Labor and Industries, and Victim/Witness offices. There are criteria that must be met in order to have a claim accepted by the program.
