Often, there is a need for further investigation by law enforcement officers before a final decision can be made. A detective may be assigned to gather additional information from victims, witnesses, medical personnel or the suspect. All reports received by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office are reviewed carefully. Our office will strive to make sure all available information has been received before a charging decision is made.
