All necessary investigation will be completed by law enforcement. All information including police reports, medical records and crime lab reports will be submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review and a charging decision. Victims will be notified in writing of the final decision. If the suspect is charged with a crime, he/she will receive a summons to appear in court to answer the charges, or in some cases, an arrest warrant may be issued.
