If there is a trial, your child may have to testify in court. While this can be stressful, it is often a very positive, empowering experience for a child to be heard and believed by a judge and jury. Encourage your child to tell the truth and know that the courtroom is a safe place. You may arrange a time to meet with the deputy prosecuting attorney and victim advocate prior to your child's testimony to tour a courtroom.
