Thanks to the road projects in front of the Pierce County Airport the airport has a new updated entrance sign. The sign, complete with reader board and lights is anticipated to be completed and fully operational by the end of August.

The sign brings a fresh new look to the airport entrance.

AWOS: Located at the south east end of the airfield the AWOS will automatically measure meteorological parameters, analyze the data via computer, and broadcast weather reports which can be received by aircraft operating up to 10,000 feet above ground level and 25 miles away from the AWOS. The AWOS III-P will voice synthesize report wind speed, gust and direction, temperature, dew point, altimeter setting density altitude, variable visiblity precipitation cloud height and sky condition.

This information will be available to pilots via a terminal display on airport, the VHF radio frequency and a local telephone number.
