Word on the Street: Improvements to the Pioneer Way East/Waller Road East intersection.

What's Happening
We're improving the Pioneer Way East/Waller Road East intersection (CRP 5628). Improvements, designed to relieve traffic congestion, include:

• Realigning Pioneer Way East.
• Adding a traffic signal at the Pioneer Way East/Waller Road East intersection including turn lanes.
• Adding concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks & retaining walls.
• Adding an enclosed storm drain system as well as stormwater treatment and storage facilities.

September 2008

• Engineering: Final engineering started in April 2008 and plans are 50% complete.
• Right-of-Way: Plans were completed August 2008. Acquisition process has begun.

• August 2008-November 2009: Acquire needed right-of-way.
• November 2009 and Beyond: The schedule for construction depends on additional funding being identified for the project. A schedule for construction has not yet been developed.
