Word on the Street: Improvements to Wollochet Drive NW (from 40th Street NW to East Bay Drive NW)

What's Happening
We're improving approximately 1 mile of Wollochet Drive NW (CRP 5696). Improvements, designed to relieve traffic congestion, include:

• Expanding the roadway to 3 lanes between 40th Street NW and Artondale Drive NW.
• Expanding the roadway to 4 lanes between Artondale Drive NW and East Bay Dr NW.
• Adding turn lanes at intersections.
• Adding concrete curbs, gutter and sidewalks.
• Adding street lighting.
• Adding an enclosed storm drain system as well as stormwater treatment.
• Improving the existing traffic signals at 40th Street NW, Artondale Drive NW and East Bay Drive NW.

Design work on this project is being coordinated with the Wollochet Drive NW Project from East Bay Drive NW to Fillmore Drive NW (CRP 5542).

April 2008

• Engineering: Roadway alignment designs have been completed. Designs are being completed for the traffic signal systems, the enclosed storm drain system and for retaining walls.
  
• Land: Right-of-way plans have been completed. Right-of-way appraisals will soon be completed for the needed property and easements.

• March 2006 to October 2009: Roadway Design.
• November 2007 to October 2009: Aquire right-of-way.
• May 2005 to October 2009: Finalize permits, environmental documents, plans and estimates.
• 2010-2011: Construction
