We're improving the intersection of Key Peninsula Hwy KPN/Olson Drive KPN/ Cramer Road KPN Intersection (CRP 5740). Improvements, designed to relieve traffic congestion, include:

  • Adding north bound and south bound left-turn lanes on Key Peninsula Hwy KPN.
  • Widening the existing roadway to include sidewalks and paved shoulders.
  • Improving existing enclosed storm drain system and adding stormwater treatment facilities.
  • Replacing the existing flashing beacon traffic signal system with a new fully actuated traffic signal system.
  • Improvements are being designed to be consistent with the Key Peninsula Community Plan.



November 2008

  • Engineering: Preliminary engineering continues for the roadway alignments, traffic signal system, traffic channelization, enclosed storm drain system, and stormwater treatment facilities.
  • Land: Preliminary right-of-way impacts are being assessed as design refinements are completed. Once right-of-way plans have been completed , we will proceed with the property appraisals.
  • Survey: Surveys are complete that identify the existing roadway and right-of-way limits.


  • May 2008 to December 2008: Preliminary engineering, environmental documents, preliminary plans and estimates. Public Open House to held.
  • January 2009: Finalize right-of-way plans and begin property acquisition.
  • February 2009: Begin final engineering (FE) phase.
