RIDER ALERT - Medical Run Added to Ketron Added for Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Schedule.

The Pierce County Ferry will be making a medical stop at Ketron Island after the 2:55 p.m. departure from Anderson Island,

Wednesday, October 15, 2008. During this medical run the crew will take the opportunity to time the triangle in reverse.

This will allow for the triangle route to be time tracked running in both regular and reverse directions. As committed to

both the Ferry Committee and the AICAB's request on Friday evening to determine which route would most benefit our

customers, in addition as committed to on Friday, we will also investigate a reservation concept for Ketron Island,

which will allow for the ferry to depart the dock after disembarking; we will immediately depart absence any reservations.

RIDER ALERT - REVISED TEMPORARY SCHEDULE TO GO INTO EFFECT TOMORROW SEPTEMBER 24, 2008

The Temporary Schedule that was released by news letter Friday, September 19, 2008 and by Rider Alert Monday, September 22, 2008, is hereby rescinded.

Discussions between the AICAB Ferry Committee and Pierce County Ferry Administration today has resulted in a revised schedule during the period of the Christine Anderson Dry docking, which can be found by clicking the following link; Temporary Ferry Schedule

During the dry docking period estimated to be September 24, 2008 through October 27, 2008 all walk-on passengers will be given free passage.

The vehicle and driver rate will remain in effect. Passengers in vehicles will not be charged in order to encourage car pooling. Hopefully this will result in faster loading and unloading of the ferry.

In addition, free parking will be provided at Oberlin Congregational Church in Steilacoom, passes will be available for pickup at the Steilacoom Terminal ticket office, effective Thursday, September 25, 2008. Passes are available on a first come first serve basis.

Our gratitude to the ferry committee and those islanders who have emailed and called to suggest a more responsive schedule. I believe you will be pleased with the refurbished Christine Anderson at the end of October.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Esher
Airport/Ferry Administrator
