Word on the Street: Replacement of the City of Roy's North Warren Street Bridge (at Muck Creek)

What's Happening
This project (CSM 6152) will provide for the improvements of North Warren Street at its crossing of Muck Creek.

  • Remove the existing bridge.
  • Reconstruct the new bridge and apporoach roadways.
  • The new bridge will be constructed with prestressed concrete girders.
  • Pierce County is managing this bridge project for the City of Roy.

October 2008

  • Engineering: We are in the Preliminary Engineering Phase of the project, this includes reviewing the existing site conditions and identifying and resolving potential impacts.
  • Land: This project will require no Right-of-Way acquistion, however a railroad easement and driveway reconstruction permits may be required.
  • Survey: Preliminary topography survey is complete.
  • Geotechnical: Geotechnical investigations have been conducted.


  • June 2007 to December 2007: Assessing project needs.
  • July 2008 to December 2009: Project design and environmental permitting.
  • Winter 2009 to Spring 2010: Complete construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Summer/Fall 2010: Construction.
