The Wastewater Utility Engineering Division is responsible for Pierce County's Sewer Utility Capital Improvement Program. These projects include both capacity, and non-capacity projects classified as maintenance, operation, improvement, preservation, and/or administrative. The Wastewater Utility Engineering section has a staff of Civil Engineers and Engineering Technicians whose responsibilities include:
- Design of Capital Improvement Projects
- Consultant Management
- Development Engineering Review
- Construction and Inspection
- Development of Design Standards and Specifications
- Sewer System Modeling
Capital Improvement Projects are generally classified as new construction or expansion for the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, or as infrastructure improvements constructed throughout the sewer service area basin in the form of upgrades and/or maintenance and operation improvements.
The Wastewater Utility Engineering section's list of Current Projects include ongoing construction for the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and additional infrastructure improvements throughout the County's Sewer Service Area.
