Pierce County Responds includes an aggressive, coordinated program for resolving illegal dumping and public nuisance ('junk') vehicles in Pierce County using the following strategies:
- Serves as a central clearinghouse for reports of illegal dumping and junk vehicles.
- Reducing the number of illegal dump sites on public and private properties by developing and overseeing cleanup programs.
- Providing county-wide education and outreach on proper disposal methods.
Pierce County Responds brings together staff and resources from the following agencies:
- Public Works & Utilities (Solid Waste & Roads Maintenace)
- Planning & Land Services
- Community Services
- Sheriff
- Prosecuting Attorney
- Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
