Overview
Public Works and Utilities, Surface Water Management Division is addressing the roadway and property flooding problems identified in the Clear Clarks Creek Basin Plan on 128th St. E., east of Meridian Ave.
This project will control flooding issues on 128th Street E. east of Meridian Ave. by construction of a retention pond. Roadway and structure flooding has occurred during severe storm events due to overwhelmed and failing drywells along 128th Street East. Pierce County has purchased the 3 acre Day and Night Sawdust property (Parcel #0419107013) and is proposing to construct a retention pond that the existing drywell system can discharge to when it ceases to function. Surface Water Management is in the process of removing existing buildings and securing the site while design and permitting work continues.
