Overview:

Phase 1 of Woodland Avenue Detention Pond was constructed in 2003. The pond covers 5 acres. Flows from Woodland Creek are diverted into the pond when water levels exceed the creek channel's capacity. When water levels in the creek recede, water in the pond is released back into the stream channel.

Phase 2 expanded the size of the pond by 1.35 acres and added permeable walking trails and a small parking lot. Public access to the trails is limited to the dry summer months.

Citizens near the pond requested that portable toilets not be used due to their appearance and potential for illegal activities.
