The revenue for this fund is derived from a portion (28%) of the one-quarter of one percent tax imposed on the sale of real property situated in the unincorporated areas of Pierce County. The monies are used for river improvement capital projects, as identified in the Puyallup River Basin Comprehensive Flood Control Management Plan.

We strive to maintain the County's capability to respond effectively to flooding emergencies and maintenance needs, as well as maintain existing levels of flood protection through routine maintenance and repair of storm and flood control facilities throughout Pierce County.
