The Neighborhood Legal Clinic is held at the Pierce County Law Library on the first three Mondays of the month. Appointments are required.

Volunteer attorneys will discuss family law problems and other civil legal matters on the first, second, and third Mondays. To make an appointment, you must call 253-572-5134.

The Neighborhood Legal Clinic is a program of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and provides 30 minutes of free legal advice or referral to the residents of Pierce County. The attorneys volunteer their time and may not accept Clinic clients for ongoing representation nor can they refer Clinic clients to their firms or other private attorneys for fee-generating services. Clinic attorneys are not experts in any particular area of the law and may not be able to provide answers to all questions asked by Clinic clients. The Clinic attorneys may be able to refer Clinic clients to other free legal service programs sponsored by the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, based on the urgency of the legal matter and financial status of the individuals involved.

On the fourth Monday of the month there will be a Clinic for Spanish speaking individuals. You must call 253-572-5134 to make an appointment.

The Coordinated Family Law Project
is a cooperative effort between our local Bar Association and Bar Foundation, Northwest Justice Project, local familly law attorneys, and several Pierce County offices and institutions including the Law Library, Facilitators Office, Family Justice Center, and YWCA Legal Services. Since late 2004, representatives of these groups have met once or twice monthly to create educational materials specfic to Pierce County to enable family law litigants to better understand the law and more easily navigate the local court system. http://www.tacomaprobono.org
