Most collection sites have glass bins for each color of glass and request that glass be sorted into the appropriate containers. |

Glass shards mix with paper and other recyclables, which then damages recycling processing equipment, lowers the value of the recycled paper, increases processing costs and poses a danger to workers at the sorting stations.
