About Doug Richardson
Council chair Richardson was raised in West Groton, Massachusetts, and came to the Lakewood area while serving on active duty with the 2nd Ranger Battalion on Fort Lewis. He is a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and was awarded a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Council chair Richardson retired from the Army Reserve as a brigadier general after completing 32 years of active and reserve service and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal.
Council chair Richardson and his wife, Charlene, have two grown children and enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren.
