Read the label of a product to determine if it is hazardous. Look for words like these:
  • Caution
  • Warning
  • Danger
  • Poison
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Harmful if swallowed

Latex paint is water-based and generally not hazardous.

Find drop-off locations for latex paint recycling.

Latex paint must be dried up before being put in the garbage. Mix in an absorbent like cat litter or strips of newspaper to speed up drying time.
