Thanks to the community for coming out to our Open House on Feb. 12, 2020! We had over 60 people attend to ask questions and give input on the project. If you were not able to attend, meeting materials are posted below. Parks is currently working towards a schematic design to apply for grant funds in 2020.
Attend the next public meeting, tentatively scheduled for late April of 2020
About the Project
Pierce County Parks is designing a paved, non-motorized trail along the Tacoma Water Pipeline between 72nd St E and 94th Ave E. This trail will provide an important connection between existing City of Tacoma trails and South Hill’s Nathan Chapman Trail. This trail will provide opportunities to enjoy a new place to exercise, commute, or take in the view of Mt. Rainier.
Later connections will be explored to include Meridian Habitat Park, the Hopp Farm, Hundred Acre Woods, and ultimately to the Foothills Trail.
Thanks to everyone who has joined us for an outreach event. We’ve had great turnouts with a lot of good questions and conversation. For a summary of each outreach event, please click on the links below.
