Pierce County has been working to address the comments and concerns provided by The Department of Ecology in their May, 2016 submittal. County and Department of Ecology staff met most recently on January 12, 2018 to discuss the small number of issues that remain unresolved. Upon resolution of those, Ecology will be able to provide to the County a summary of items that must be revised in order for the County to receive State approval of the Master Program.

One topic of discussion between Ecology and the County pertains to the Dredge Material Management Program (DMMP). The DMMP is a program overseen by State and Federal agencies that oversees the disposal of sediments. A DMMP disposal site is located between Anderson and Ketron Islands.  A public meeting will be held on Anderson Island on February 22, 2018 at which a number of State and Federal agencies will speak about the DMMP and answer questions from the public. The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., at the Anderson Island Community Club located at 11319 Yoman Road, Anderson Island
