Start by talking to your neighbor about the burning issue. Some people may be unaware that what they are burning is illegal, or that they are poorly affecting the air quality for you and your neighborhood.
You can call 911 or the Pierce County Non-Emergency line at (253) 798-4721 (#1) to report the outdoor burning of if someone needs medical attention due to the air quality issue. This will keep a record that you have reported what you believe is illegal burning, and the local fire district may be dispatched.
You can contact the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency to file a complaint. The PSCAA is able to issue fines and fees for illegal burning which is affecting the air quality.
