Administration of the LTAC is governed locally by Pierce County Code (PCC), and PCC 2.93.030 addresses Committee composition.  The code directs that four members will be “representatives of businesses required to collect the tax” and four members “who are involved in activities authorized to be funded by revenues received.”  In addition, Pierce County’s LTAC includes two at-large members and a city council member from “a city or town within Pierce County that collects lodging tax which goes to the County,” as well as a member of the County Council who serves as the Chair of the Committee, for a total of twelve members. Committee members are appointed by the Pierce County Executive, subject to confirmation by the Pierce County Council.
