Base Plan Updates Postponed to February 1, 2021

We recently shared that implementation of the new building codes has been postponed to February 1, 2021.
 
Pierce County has also postponed the requirement to update Base Plans. The Base Plans will need to meet the 2018 model codes upon adoption on February 1, 2021. Please plan ahead with your base plan setups and reach out to Assistant Building Official Nick Waggood by email with questions.
 
To provide better service to our customers, we have been working on a new base plan cover sheet that will allow more options to be listed on your plan. This improved tool will be available before the end of the month. Please reach out to Nick Waggood to see how your plans can be incorporated into our base plan program.
